Carla Kerr, RMT

Carla grew up in Miramichi NB, where she started her fitness career. Being an athlete all her life this was a natural path, and she hasn’t looked back since. Moving to Saint John in 2000, she has had many fitness roles ranging from personal trainer to fitness instructor. Working with body movement and anatomy, massage therapy seemed to be the next obvious step for her.

Carla has been a practising Registered Massage Therapist since 2005. She integrates trigger point therapy, deep tissue work and myofascial cupping to provide effective relief of muscular tension and promote over all health. She also teaches a variety of fitness classes which gives her a unique opportunity understand and to work with body mechanics which she applies in her treatment approach.

Most weekends, you will likely find her in an arena behind the scenes or right on the bench working with the hockey players from teams that her boys are on. Being active herself and a hockey mom of 2 boys, she acknowledges the benefits of massage therapy for young athletes (as well as the seasoned ones 😊) and incorporates stretching, strengthening and joint mobility into her treatments.

Carla enjoys the outdoors (especially the hot sunny weather) and throwing on music and going for a run. She may even challenge Dr. Rick to a game of basketball….stay tuned.

In addition to working as a Registered Massage Therapist, she has been an instructor at Eastern College in the massage therapy program since 2014.
